Led personally by Chef Alejandro Urbina, this experience takes you on a cultural and culinary journey through some of the most traditional and beloved flavors of Peruvian cuisine. With more than 20 years of professional culinary experience and years living in the United States, Chef Alejandro understands how to present Peruvian gastronomy in a way that is engaging, educational, and enjoyable for international travelers.
During the tour, guests will explore local food spots, learn about the cultural influences that shaped Peruvian cuisine, and enjoy a variety of iconic dishes and traditional beverages. The experience includes tastings of classic favorites such as pan con chicharrón and chicha morada, a visit to the vibrant Surquillo local market to discover fresh ingredients and tropical fruits, and an interactive restaurant experience where guests can enjoy dishes like lomo saltado.
One of the highlights of the tour is watching the preparation of Peru’s most famous cocktail, the Pisco Sour, as well as learning about the techniques and ingredients that make Peruvian cuisine so unique.
The experience also includes tasting the traditional dessert picarones and finishing the tour with a delicious Peruvian coffee at a local café.
This all-inclusive experience covers all food and tastings, so guests can simply relax and enjoy the journey without worrying about additional expenses.
With small groups and a personalized approach, this tour offers a more intimate and authentic way to experience Lima’s food culture.
